Local Horace Mann agent Tom Strickler announced at the monthly DEEP meeting today that Horace Mann Educators Corporation (NYSE: HMN) is a new, national sponsor of DonorsChoose.org, an organization that connects donors to classroom projects in need of funding. As part of its sponsorship, Horace Mann will be providing matching project funds of up to $250,000. As a result of the grant, Horace Mann will help fund at least 1,250 projects by matching up to $200 of any donation of $400 or less made to DonorsChoose.org, up to a total of $250,000. February 17, 2011 6:00 – 8:00 PM The final rounds of the Holten Richmond Middle School Spelling Bee will be held on Thursday, February 17th, at the Liberty Tree Mall from 6-8 PM. Each grade level (6-8) will have their own final round with one winner per grade level. Moderator for the Spelling Bee will be Ellen White with Deborah Auday and Sarah Redman acting as judges. The National Spelling Bee will be followed in the competition. Event will also feature a Silent Aunction; all proceeds will benefit DEEP, Danvers Educational Enrichment Partnership.
